From the all-new coined “Granny Chic” style to the new-old “Grandmillennial” style making a big return, 2022 has shown us that there are some design trends that are in full steam ahead as they’ve already started to make their comeback.

The first thing you may ask is, “What is Granny Chic?” The simplest way to describe what Granny Chic is to think of it as your grandmother’s interiors turned modern. It’s a nostalgic take on a seemingly “old” style that everyone was just sure would never come back into style. Well, now we’re here, and it’s making it’s comeback in a big, bold way.

If you want to find a way to incorporate the latest trends without an all in commitment, here are three styling trends to try in 2023.

#1 – Pleated Lampshades

Whether you like an empire shape (otherwise known as tapered) or a more modern shape like a drum style shade, pleated shades are coming back in all shapes, sizes, patterns, and colors. Here are a few I pulled from Amazon for you to check out and try.

#2 – Wallpaper

Wallpaper has made a big comeback this year and it doesn’t seem that this trend will slow down any time soon. Wallpaper, sometimes referred to as wallcovering, is an amazing way to elevate any room. Use it as an accent wall, on the ceiling, or to cover all your walls. Either way, some would argue this trend is here to stay for the long haul. Check out some of these classic options from Amazon!

#3 – Monochromatic Bold Colors

Another big trend you’ll see in 2023 is the use of monochromatic bold colors, where a single color is used in various shades and tones to create a dramatic effect. This can be seen in everything from fashion to home decor, with deep shades of red, blue, or green being used to create a rich, luxurious atmosphere. Whatever the application, bold color style trends are sure to make a lasting impression and add a sense of vitality to any space. Want to try this trend? Here are three options to help you browse a variety of colors of the same item.

Which one is your favorite?

2023 promises to be an exciting year for interior design. With trends like these making their presence known, there’s something for everyone to look forward to. While I can’t predict the exact future of interior design trends with 100% certainty, it’s clear that these trends are shaping the way our design preferences are in development. So, keep an eye out for these exciting trends in the coming year. Now, tell me in the comments below what trend are you excited to see come back or what trend do you hope to come back sometime in the future?
